Market for enlargers - ??

Hi All,

I have an Omega B66XX enlarger that I used in the early '80's for a
few years. It is in perfect condition and has all the original parts.
It was great fun and a beautiful piece of equipment. I am cleaning out
storage and I would like to find it a good home. With the digital age
the market for this stuff all but I know there are still some real
darkroom craftsmen out there.

My questions are - what should I expect to get for it? And where to
try to sell it? Here is one good place I'm sure. I tried eBay and got
one bid for 99 cents. Craigs List is another I suppose but if anyone
has any other suggestions or advice I do appreciate.

Thanks and Best,

Vic

If that was true, you would have been obligated to sell it for the $0.99. If you
had a reserve set, you don't know what the bid actually was -- all you know is
that it was less than your reserve.

If you phone the buyers at B&H or KEH they will give you a detailed
estimate pending verification. If you like an estimate send in the
enlarger and if all goes well (it usually does) they send you a check.

B&H: 800.606.6969 ext. 2700 Ask for Joseph Schwartz, he is the best
buyer

KEH: 1-800-342-5534

Unfortunately, it's highest value is probably as a boat anchor. My
Super Omega is up in the attic, taking up space. There must be
millions of them out there looking for a good home.

If you want to get some fulfillment out of losing it, I'd suggest you
donate it to a youth center or school or something and then volunteer
to teach a couple of workshops on how to use it, so the kids can get
some use out of it.

Re: Market for enlargers - ??

To anybody with an un-needed enlarger or darkroom equipment

If you have found it hard to sell and gotten ridiculous offers for it -

Consider the Tax advantages of Donating it to the Cape Coral Art Studio
The studio is non profit and serves the Citizens of Cape Coral and Lee
County Florida,
it ofers photo, digital photo, darkroom and children's photo classes.

It has a limited budget for photo equipment and darkroom equipment so
donations are welcome

You will receive an official receipt that is acceptable to the IRS
documenting your donation.
This way you can do a good deed and still get some value out of your old
equipment

If you are interested, please email me I will give you all the contact
info so you can check this out, see it is not a scam and arrange your
donation

Thanks
