I almost bought one once, I was sleeping below decks on my US Navy destroyer
which I was married to for about 3+ years. We were coming through the
straits by Indonesia after going to the gulf of Ammen and Omar during the
1973 oil crisis. We lost power in the boilers and managed to coast out of
the way of the USS Midway I think it was that was behind us. Had we not we
would have bought the carrier and a whole lot of the Pacific ocean would of
been ours to swallow. I never told my parents this other wise they would
have dropped dead in fear. Now that they are gone I can reveal it. If you
are selling an air craft carrier, I don't want any of those old oil hogs
like the Kitty Hawk. They go through a ton of oil a minute and that is just
sitting in port. Maybe one of those newer nuke ones, but only if it is not

Just beach the thing and convert it into condos. Most municipalities will
take years to implement legal action and force you to remove it at which
time it's easy enough to just put a hole in the hull and let her go :)
