Switzerland this summer/fallAfter much deliberation, we have decided to go to Switzerland this
summer. The dollar is heading back up, I have frequent flyer miles I
can use, and I am not getting any younger.
We are going to fly to Munich and spend two days there. Munich is a
great city. From there we are going to take a train to Zurich.
We booked rail passes on http :// SwissRailPasses, com that are good not
only for the train, but also have discounts for the lake boats, some
of the cog railways, and other things.
We have booked our first night and last nights in Switzerland on the
Best Western International link that is on the Swiss Rail Passes
site. Our main stops are going to be at Zurich, Luzern, Geveva and
Arosa.
I am going to take a small ham radio transceiver with me so I can do
some operating from Switzerland.
Our trip is set for September, so the dollar should have recovered
nicely by then.
We have always wanted to go to Switzerland, and since I will retire in
a couple years, we figure we owe it to ourselves. One of neighbors
goes twice a years on business, so we got some tips on good places to
says and eat.
We gave this whole trip a lot of consideration and decided to do it
now, because it won't be any cheaper next year.
I am hoping to set up a blog to record what we do on a day by day
basis.
