No. But it's an option if now the Ryan's luggage fee is the big problem.
SAS don't charge extra for checked luggage up to the limit.
Ryan operates with low prices, sometimes extremely low, but recover
operating costs with other things luggage fees, insurances and so on.
Just compare the total and feel free to avoid them if you don't like their
bananas.

Maybe I am a naive traveler but I work on total cost and travel time, when
choosing a route.

Yes you're perfectly right and I agree with you.
So what's wrong with Ryanair to Aarhus if now total cost and travel time is
better ?
As I can see Tim wants the better travel time and Ryan's low price but he's
still whining about the luggage fee.

and why does Agent's UK English spelling checker use the US spelling for
traveller?

Well duh... its a U.S. export, like most of the software and even OS
you use.

Not specifically about this route, it was just an example of a route where
an alternative to FR was not sensible.

I was however complaining about the luggage fee because of the way it is
presented.. Molly goes on about increasing it to persuade people not to
take luggage, when many people don't have a choice.

If he presented it as a profit centre I wouldn't be complaining, but he
doesn't

Every charge Ryanair makes is for profit. The card fees are another
example. However, they are also targeted at making their operations
smoother, and having as little luggage to deal with the better. Other
airlines also charge, and expect even more 'non-budget' carriers to add
to that list (some apparently already do.)

What you have to ask is whether or not the route you are flying on would
be anywhere remotely possible at that price before the likes of Ryanair-
the answer is usually no.
