product photography for online sales question....

Hello,

I am bringing some wooden toy designs to market and I was wondering if
there is a photographic standard for online stores regarding product
photography. Some onine stores have wonderful three dimensional views,
or simply a front and back view. Is it ever the vendor that provides
these shots, and if so, are their guidelines? I would love to do the
photography only once.
