Re: SMT FAQ

Julie, I tried to send this to you via email, but it came back. There
are a couple places you might want to correct in the SMT FAQ.
////////////////////////////////////
Number one:
How to Access SMT

Newsgroups
Through AOL:
AOL Keyword to access Sci Med Transcription (unread messages) -
aol://5862:126/sci.med.transcription.

I'm not sure what's wrong with the above link, but I got the message
repeatedly:

"This document has been deleted."

////////////////////////////////////
Number two:
NEWSGROUP ACCESS INSTRUCTIONS:
***AOL has changed it's message boards, and these forums are no longer
moderated by Community Leaders as in the past. You may access the
Medical Transcription Forums from inside AOL by entering this address:
aol://5863:126/mBLA:128708. The Message Board formats have also
changed, though some are still able to view these in the old-fashioned
AOL board style.***

Sadly, the old format has been taken away from us. Now there is only
one "improved" format for everyone. Also, the first sentence should
read "changed its message board," not the contraction of it is. Minor
problem, though. I Googled for this link to double-check:

Re: SMT FAQ

That's because AOL stopped hosting a news server.

Re: SMT FAQ

Judity/other AOL users:

I'm updating the FAQ.

Regarding #1: Does anyone have current information?

Regarding #2: What do you want me to say? <G> I'm not sure from your
post. If you wouldn't mind rewriting this section, I'll just plop in
whatever you tell me to.

Yeah. AOL no longer provides access to newsgroups, so you have to just
delete it altogether.
