word help, please

Pt. with ORIF patella 5 days ago. He comments she had a little bit of very
clearly "ruboro" UNDERLYING" the patella.

I know what rubor is, but would you be able to see it "underlying" the
patella? And he DEFINITELY says "ruboro" which I cannot find in any of my
word sources.

Maybe he meant to say rubor "overlying" instead of underlying the patella.

Re: word help, please

That's what I am wondering, too. I did write rubor, but changing underlying
to overlying is more than I am willing to do as an MT. This doctor rarely
misdictates (not sure that's a word). He mispronounces drugs that are not
common to his ortho practice, but otherwise he's pretty accurate, so
something like this always puzzles me.

Thanks Ed. The lack of response I guess indicates everybody else was
puzzled, too, and didn't have the answers.

Re: word help, please

Yep, you weren't alone in being puzzled. The suggestion Ed made was the
only thing I could think of, too.
