Jeannie, I use my a/c year-round here. We haven't had a really "cold"
winter in years, and my car holds heat inside really well because of the
black interior. I can't remember when I first learned of the known
decrease in mileage because of the different formulation, but it was a
news story here.

On the Prius, the AC compressor is electric rather than engine driven,
so unless the AC use was causing the battery to discharge to the point
where the engine had to run to recharge the battery, that wouldn't be
it.

Gas in Milford, CT is about 3.49.
