Implant placement w/o anaesthetic

This is from a BBC programme about the uses of hypnosis in medicine.
The extraction and implant are done without LA (for the sake of
demonstrating how powerful hypnosis can be - hypnosis isn't usually
used as a substitute for LA, except perhaps in cases of true allergy
to local anaesthetics):

Mike Gow who does the hypnosis bit can be contacted on our dental
phobia forum - http :// www .dentalfearcentral.org/forum

I wonder what kind of success rate that dentist has with his
hypnosis.....ie. how many local anaesthesia rescues he has to do for every
one successfully entranced patient.

My brother recently joined the ASCH, and has taken two long seminar
weekends. Mostly therapists, a couple of chiropractors. There are a
couple of dentists, and he's networking now. He'll probably try to
straighten me out first.

As I said, he usually would use LA as well as a matter of course. The
hypnosis-only demonstration was just done for a TV programme about the
uses of hypnosis in medicine.
