I think my teeth got worse after using teeth whitening

this bizarre... I have used a product (no names here) for some month
and I have to tell you that it first seemed to work quite nice. Okay,
it's a bit uncomfortable to carry the blue light in the mouth but it
was alright. After some weeks of use I couldn't detect more whitening
degree, so I stopped using it. Guess what? My teeth are back to the
same colour they were before ...and I think it got even worse...can it
be that teeth whitening can effect the colouring of your teeth ?
That would be mad... any ideas?

All of these bleaching methods show a bit of relapse. I'm not sure
what the mechanism is, but obviously stain can still collect on the
surface of the teeth. I have no reason to believe that the teeth will
get darker than they were originally.
