JADA cover April 2008

The cover, "Orthodontic Therapy and it effect on Periodontal Health,"
is almost an advertisement for my book, "Insider's guide to gum
disease, orthodontics, and dentistry. What is not taught in dental
school."

Man you've got it bad.

Seek treatment for pathologic narcissism immediately.

Re: JADA cover April 2008

I went to a lecture by Kanca last week in KC. He was very
influencial to my thoughts on posterior composites back in
the 80's.

I was hoping to pick up a few pearls that might have come up
in the last few years.

Most of what I got were pictures of his home by using google
earth, who he was sitting on the patio with drinking single
malt scotch, pictures of his family, etc. Why a dentist in
the midwest would give a rat's ass about any of this is beyond
me.

People seeking fame and fortune have such huge egos
that they can never see themselves honestly.

I saw Kleinfelter a few years back--nothing like that. Very
entertaining speaker, no pictures of beaches or airplanes, informative.

I normally get up at that point return to the registration desk and demand
my money back.

It was a 'free' lecture included in the fee for the whole
convention. I could have gone to another, but I kept thinking
that things would change......

Re: JADA cover April 2008

I have finally learned that if the lecture is bad in the first 45 minutes,
it is NOT going to get any better. I generally give the lecturer until
about 9:30 then go ask for a refund when they go that way.

Re: JADA cover April 2008

Not much, but it sure gets their attention in a hurry. Especially when I
refuse the attendance voucher.
