Is $1,600 per tooth for gold fillings reasonable?

Is $1,600 per tooth for gold fillings reasonable?

Is it reasonable (even if expensive) for gold fillings to take 3-4
visits (mold, base, etc?) and cost $1,600 per tooth?

The fee is in the ballpark. I don't understand 4 visits though.

Dental school?

Occlusal adjustments?

TMJ Specialist?

Pre-operative work-up plus other work?

Thank you.

I understood that the 3-4 visits were for taking impressions, creating
a cement base, and then laying the actual gold. The dentist claims
that it could be done in less time but that he does it "by the book".

What are the advantages/disadvantages of gold filings?

Another question - what, if any, are the advantages of a gold crown over a
noble metal crown?

Noble metal or high noble metal is just another name for
a gold crown (depending upon the alloy, it may or may not
be 'yellow' gold).

Wow, I would be happy getting USD1600 for 3 gold fillings, but I
haven't done them for quite a while.

No. My mouth is full of fillings and none of them are gold. My crowns,
however, are and the most I've paid for one of those is about $800.

Hi chris,

I think the cost $1,600 per tooth for gold fillings would be an
expensive deal. why you don't try someother dental
clinic for the other best soultion to fiiling tooth. Might be possible
that you'll get ur tooth gold filling at very low price
in abroad like India. I know one of the medical center in india for
any kind of diseases with lots of new technologies for
treatment at very low cost. You may find more info at
http :// www .indian-medical-center,com /

All the best..

Regards
Thomas
