Woman with Ocular Albinism

Woman with Ocular Albinism

Doctors diagnosed me with Ocular Albinism at 3 months of age. I am a
rare case because it's said 0only men can have the Ocular Albinism
trate. There is no way to find out for 100% positive that I have
Ocular Albinism until I die and have an eye biopsy. I was just
wonering if there are any other cases of women with Ocular Albinism.

There are two kinds of ocular albinism, one is X linked and mostly in
men, the other is autosomal recessive and found equally in men and
women. See the link below for more info.

In my practice I have seen at least 3 women with ocular albinism

Thank you so much Judy. Do both cases of OA have the same vision
weaknesses. I was just wondering since I have more than one diagnosis
if those affect my OA worst than others that just have OA.

OA, like all genetic diseases, can manifest differently from one
person to the next, some have worse vision than others. Whether your
other medical conditions are affecting your sight is a question only
your doctors, who are familiar with your personal details, can answer.

Also I was wondering If my parent's had the gene or if I carry it as
well, will my children have a possability of having OA. Research in
the study you gave me said it is a 1 in 4 chance.

If you have the autosomal recessive version of OA, then each of your
parents likely carried one gene and you likely have both; it is
possible but rare for women to have two of the X linked genes.

Ask your doctor to refer you to a genetic counselling and testing
centre (often at Children's Hospitals) for specific advice about you
and your children.

Wait! Wait! Zetsu and Jason have not yet chimed in to tell you that you can
clear your genetic problem by employing the Bates method, i. e. improving
your memory and imagination, sunning, palming and simply resting (and may be
drinking lots of water). So you still have some hope!

But then Bialek will add his advise to increase your salt intake, Andrew will
tell you to transform your personality and Otis will certainly prescribe you
his famous Plus lenses. Try it all, what can you lose?

Re: Woman with Ocular Albinism

Sorry, I am not familiar with 'ocular albinism'.
From what I have heard, it is something to do with loss of colour in
the eye? If it is simply related to the colour of the eye, then that
should not make a difference to the eyesight. Is it more complicated
than that? Please do explain to me.

However, I think that any disease of the eye can certainly be helped
by the rest methods, because when the mind is at rest the entire
bodily condition is improved and the disease is often mitigated in
this manner.

Re: Woman with Ocular Albinism

Sorry, my previous post was slightly unclear.
What I meant was that diseases of the eye can be both ameliorated, and
also cured in many cases. However, it usually takes a great deal of
time to accomplish a complete cure (depending on the severity of the
disease). If you would like to find out more about the cure of organic
disease, you should read the magazines for yourself. Inspirational and
incredible accounts of it are published on numerous pages.

It was completely clear as mud.
Please desist.
We insist.

Ah yes, the retarded point of view here.

But that didn't stop you from offering advice.

Michelle: Zetsu is a high school student who has learned to cut and
paste. Ignore his advice.

Well, all I said is that I think many eye diseases are helped by the
rest methods. I don't think there is something wrong with that. And I
also asked politely, if you could explain to me what ocular albinism
is.

But of course ... and we've gone over this countless times ... you
have ab-so-lute-ly no idea. You've merely pored over a particular
book or magazine and have now declared yourself some sort of subject
matter expert.

Since you ARE such a self-professed subject matter expert, then it
will be little trouble for you to figure out what the features of
ocular albinism are ... on your own.

Have you noticed how few people have ANY interest whatsoever in
helping you?

I wonder why.
