The most likely physiologic cause of air swallowing is GERD, although I
could see how a compressing neck mass might cause that as well. If you don't
have other symptoms of GERD (chest pain, heartburn etc) then I'd see a head
and neck surgeon. If you do have associated digestive problems, I'd see a
gastroenterologist.
