Help with blood results - iron and/or kidney problem?

These results are for my 6 year old son. He has two ped endocrines but our
appt. is scheduled way out 3 months.

Things up front:

1. He may have protein loosing enteropathy - they did a stool test for this
and the results are pending.

2. He had 20% of his lower intestines removed (congenitally aganglionic).

3. He has hypoparathyroidism (congenital).

4. He has a right sided aortic arch, bicuspid valve, aortic stenosis and
possibly aortic coarctation (scheduled for MRI).

With that said, here's what's puzzling me:

1. His serum ferritin was LOW at 13 (ref 22 - 322)
TIBC was 415 (ref 250 - 450)
UIBC was 286 (ref 150 - 375)
Iron, serum was 129 (ref 11 - 150)
Iron saturation was 31% (ref 15 - 55)

2. His serum creatinine was low at 0.49 (ref 0.5 - 1.5)

3. His total bilirubin was almost low at 0.1 (ref 0.1 - 1.2)

4. His Vitamin D 1,25 Dihdroxy was elevated at 44.7 (ref 15.9 - 55.6)

He had other things checked, like cortisol, ACTH, phosphorus, Vit d 25
hydroxy, intact PTH, IGF-1, IGF-BP3, glucose, metabolic panel, CBC, etc. and
all those came back normal.

What do the out-of-range results above mean? I have read that coarctation of
the aorta can somehow cause iron problems but not sure how.

Also I read that same condition can cause kidney problems due to lack of
blood flow. But I thought with less blood flow to the kidneys now,
creatinine would be high and not low. This really concerns me because if
they repair that, and blood flow increases to the kidney, we're in for
hypertension troubles. Maybe I'm just wrong.. but would sure appreciate some
insight while we wait for 3 months.

Thanks
Richard

What does all this mean?
