uterine bleedingHello,
I'm hoping someone may be able to give me some idea of what I'm
dealing with here. I have a biopsy scheduled in a few weeks, but the
doc isn't telling me much.. what I'm reading on the net is pretty
terrifying and I can't find any really similar scenario.
I'm a 43 y.o. pre-menapausal female and I had a large mole removed
right at my bikini line. The biopsy on that came back as abnormal,
but not malignant.. 'one to watch".. during the procedure I'd pressed
back my lower abdomen so the doctor could easily get to the mole.
During the procedure I began to have menstrual cramps, later that day
I began having pink discharge, since that time, about 45 days ago,
I've had pink discharge and intermittent heavy bleeding (heavier than
any period I've ever had). Most recently, the last 10 days, the
bleeding has been continuous and very heavy. A few weeks ago, I had
a pap smear and gyn exam, the pap smear came back normal, but the gyn
exam showed my uterus is enlarged, but I had a child 9 years ago (c -
section, inverted T) so she said that may be why. An ultrasound was
done and shows a thickening of the uterine 'stripe.' The upcoming
biopsy is to test for abnormal cells or cancer. What I'm reading
about this is daunting. My question is, could the bleeding be related
to the pressure on my uterus during the mole removal.. especially
since the incision was an inverted T? Additionally, could the removal
of the (abnormal) mole have somehow kicked off the cramps/bleeding? 2
different doctors are involved (general practitioner & ob/gyn, I told
the OB about the mole procedure and that was the beginning of all of
this, etc., but I'm thinking they think that's not relative.
I know no one can really tell me what this "is", but I would like to
hear any opinions or 'best guesses' anyone would like to share.
Thanks in advance.
